Recital at the Romanian Athenaeum, in Bucharest

A great success at the Romanian Athenaeum, on August 14, during the „Magic Summer” International Festival. Many thanks to the audience in Bucharest for the warmth they have shown during Teodora’s recital!

The extraordinary recital – with the theme “A Woman’s Life and Love” – took place at the Romanian Athenaeum, and featured famous opera highlights and lied cycles. Teodora Gheorghiu was accompanied by pianist Diana Ionescu.
The recital included in its first half two of the most famous lied cycles of Robert Schumann, “A woman’s Life and Love” and the lied cycle “Liederkreis.” The second half featured a selection of famous opera highlights, such as Puccini’s La Boheme – Aria “Si. My name is Mimi ”, L’amico Fritz de Mascagni – “Son pochi fiori”, Puccini’s Turandot – “Tu che di gel sei cinta ”, Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata – Aria “Addio del passato”, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci – Aria of Needa, “Stridono lassu”.
