Sunday, 27 November 2022, Teodora Gheorghiu had the joy of playing for the first time in the show “Pagliacci” (“Paiațe”) by Ruggero Leoncavallo, at the National Opera in Bucharest. Specially invited for this performance, she played the role of Nedda, alongside the tenor Hector Lopez, in the role of Canio.
The diptych “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni and “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leoncavallo premiered in 2018, under the directorial signature of the late Ion Caramitru. The scenography was created by Viorica Petrovici, and the light design by Chris Jaeger. Maestro Vlad Conta was at the conductor’s desk.
